CHERISH FOOD FIGHT: Raising money for foster kids in Monterey County

Junior Chefs faced off for charity raising money for foster care services in Monterey County.

Aspiranet held its 2019 Cherish Food Fight event at the Monterey Tides Hotel Saturday, October 26th.

The event raised money for the Cherish Receiving Center which Aspiranet says is a safe-haven for at-risk children removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect. They receive help there until they can be placed in safe and caring homes.

Vizcaino Restaurant and Chef Jose Velasquez provided food for guests to enjoy.

Junior Chefs Ava-Sabine Price, Nikhil Nunna, Owen Perez and Aryan Agarwal competed in the charity event along with mentor chefs.

According to Aspiranet, the event raised more than $8,000 so far. They are still accepting donations.
