Monterey County not impacted by Tuesday power shutoffs

UPDATE 10/28/2019 4:30 p.m. Monterey County now confirms that it will not be part of the next round of power shutoffs starting Tuesday.

UPDATE 10/28/2019 3:30 p.m. Monterey County received information from PG&E that the county would not be affected by the next round of potential shutoffs, but now that may be changing.

PG&E now may not have confirmation about the next shutoffs until about 5 p.m. on Monday.

The county said information about potential shutoffs is dynamic and it will work to put out the most accurate information and any changes that happen.

PREVIOUS STORY: The Monterey County Office of Emergency Services said the county will not be affected by a power shutoff starting Tuesday.

Monterey County OES said some residents received a call saying they would be affected, but that it was a mistake.

Parts of southern and northeastern Monterey County were part of the most recent round of outages starting Saturday evening. PG&E is planning another shutoff on Tuesday in other counties.
