Man arrested for illegal sale of narcotics in Santa Cruz

A pound of Xanax pills and 15 grams of meth were confiscated from a Santa Cruz residence on Friday.

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (KION)

Santa Cruz police arrested a 21-year-old man for the illegal sale and possession of narcotics in Santa Cruz late Friday morning.

The Santa Cruz County Anti-Crime Team completed a three-month investigation Friday into narcotics sales. Their investigation led them to a home on the 500 block of Park Way.

With help from the Santa Cruz Police Department's Neighborhood Policing Team, detectives and K9 Unit Parker, a search warrant was served at the suspect residence.

During the search, officers located and confiscated a pound of Xanax pills, with a street value of almost $7,000, 15 grams of Methamphetamine, with a street value of $1,200, and other evidence of narcotic sales which includes packaging and digital scales.

A 21-year-old man was arrested at the scene for possession of a controlled substance for sale and the possession of methamphetamine for sale.

The Santa Cruz County District Attorney's Office is handling the rest of the investigation.
