It was closed last week because of its proximity to the River Fire, but evacuation warnings and orders on the north end have been lifted.
PREVIOUS STORY: The Bureau of Land Management said it will be issuing a temporary emergency closure at Fort Ord National Monument due to the River Fire.
The closure goes into effect immediately and will be in effect until further notice.

Cal Fire last said the River Fire has burned 10,672 acres and is 7% contained.
