Board of Supervisors passes mask order for unincorporated Monterey County

SALINAS, Calif. (KION) The Monterey County Board of Supervisors has passed a face covering ordinance for unincorporated parts of Monterey County.

Anyone who violates the order is subject to a $100 fine for the first violation, $200 for a second and $500 for a third. Repeated violations can be prosecuted as a misdemeanor.

The County Administrative Officer is authorized to hire temporary workers as needed to enforce the order.
