Attempted murder suspect arrested in connection to shooting on Rio del Pajaro Court

WATSONVILLE, Calif. (KION) An attempted murder suspect was arrested in connection to a shooting that happened two weeks ago, according to Watsonville police.

Police arrested 18-year-old Jibril Abdi at his home on Blackbird Circle late Tuesday night and served a search warrant there.

Abdi is accused of shooting at a man who was sitting in a car on Rio del Pajaro Court on June 18 during a botched robbery. Police said the victim was hit by one of the shots and drove himself to the hospital. He is recovering from the injury.

Watsonville police said Abdi had previous gun convictions and is on probation.
