Monterey Sports Center to require face coverings while exercising
MONTEREY, Calif. (KION) The Monterey Sports Center said it will be requiring members and guests to wear face coverings at all times while at the facility, including while exercising.
The facility said it is requiring them based on face covering guidance released by the California Department of Public Health Thursday. Californians are required to wear masks while in most indoor spaces, but there is an exception for those exercising outdoors. The exception does not appear to apply to indoor exercise.
The sports center said the requirement is a temporary, yet essential precaution.
The Monterey Sports Center is reopening Friday. Reservations are required.
