Four in total arrested after strong-arm robbery, search in Hollister
HOLLISTER, Calif. (KION) Two adults and two juveniles were arrested after a strong-arm robbery followed by a search.
On Saturday, Hollister police went to McCarthy Park after a report of a strong-arm robbery. There they found a juvenile who they said had visible injuries. The victim said he was approached by a group that beat him and took money and other items. The victim said he was threatened multiple times, and one of the suspects said he had a gun.
Police said the victim told them that he recognized one of the suspects from a police press release and another went to school with him. During the investigation, police identified 18-year-old James Infante and two juveniles as suspects.
Infante and one of the juvenile suspects were found and arrested Saturday evening. Police said Infante resisted. The other juvenile suspect was found and arrested a few days later.
On Thursday, police got search warrants for two Hollister homes in connection to the robbery. Because police believed weapons were involved in the robbery, the Monterey County Sheriff's Office SWAT team, the Gilroy Police Anti-Crime Team, the Unified Narcotics Enforcement Team and San Benito County Probation helped.
While serving one of the search warrants, police said 54-year-old Jose Infante did not cooperate. He was arrested for resisting, delaying and obstructing a peace officer.
