Watsonville man arrested for allegedly sharing video of young girl being sexually assaulted

WATSONVILLE, Calif. (KION) A Watsonville man is behind bars facing possession and distribution of child pornography charges.

The investigation started when the Silicon Valley Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force sent information to Watsonville police about a video posted online showing a young girl being sexually assaulted by a man.

Police do not know the origin of the video, but said 25-year-old Tranquilino Gervacio admitted to sharing the video in a social media group during the investigation.

He was arrested a week after ICAC forwarded the tip on April 9.

Gervacio is booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail facing felony charges.
