Second Salinas shooting being investigated in connection to Friday night’s

shooting investigation

SALINAS, Calif. (KION) The Salinas Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred near the 800 block of E. Laurel Drive Saturday morning. It is the second shooting to occur in the area in less than twenty-four hours.

Officers responded to the call around 8:30 a.m. They discovered a 29-year-old man with a gunshot wound upon arrival at the scene.

The victim was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for his injuries.

Detectives are investigating whether or not there is any connection between this shooting and last night's shooting, which left one man dead.
