Two members of Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office test negative for COVID-19

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, Calif. (KION)

UPDATE 4/14/2020 4:15 p.m. County officials have corrected information that was initially provided to KION about two Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office employees.

The two employees showed symptoms of COVID-19, but tested negative, according to Jason Hoppin with Santa Cruz County.

KION was initially told that two staff members have had COVID-19.

PREVIOUS STORY: Sheriff Jim Hart tells KION that two employees with the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office have tested positive for COVID-19.

Hart said one of the employees is a correctional officer in the jail who has recovered and is back at work.

He said the other employee is a deputy who is still sick and off duty.

This is a developing story.
