Driver arrested on DUI and gun charges in Salinas

SALINAS, Calif. (KION) A driver in Salinas was arrested on DUI and gun charges after police said they found him parked in the middle of the street.

Salinas police got a call about someone driving recklessly near Sherwood Drive, so officers did an area check. They found the car parked in the middle of the street near Mendocino Drive and Colusa Place.

Officers said the driver, 21-year-old Mason Rohr, smelled strongly of alcohol. They checked Rohr for weapons and said they found a fully loaded gun in his pocket.

Rohr was arrested and booked into the Monterey County Jail.
