Driver arrested on DUI charges after crashing into Salinas store
SALINAS, Calif. (KION)
UPDATE 3/5/2020 11:45 a.m. Police identify the driver of a car that crashed into a business Wednesday night as 29-year-old Edgar Calderon.
Salinas police said at around 8:30 p.m., he hit "Morelia's 99 Cents and Up" store on East Market Street and ran. The store owner followed Calderon and pointed him out to officers.
Calderon was caught and arrested on DUI charges. The store was open at the time of the crash.

Salinas Police tell KION the driver fled the scene after crashing, and they are still working to learn exactly what happened.
Crews are using plywood to board up the damage at "Morelia's 99 Cents and Up" store, late Wednesday night. Debris can be seen inside the business.
