Trash fire damages Monterey building

An investigation is underway after a trash fire damaged a building late Sunday night in Monterey.

The Monterey Fire Department says they put out a trash fire between American Burger and Orchid Nails on Lighthouse Avenue.

The fire spread and left damage to a nearby building. An employee from American Burger spotted the fire and tried to extinguish it, that employee had minor burn injuries.
