PRUNEDALE, Calif. (KION) - A new project will see much of the 101 near Prunedale closed for new guardrails and other enhancements on June 22.

The project will see a stretch of the highway north of Crazy Horse Canyon Road to Dunbarton Road. New guardrails, concrete barrier replacements, and improved drainage will be worked on overnight.

Caltrans will begin the project starting on Sunday overnight and into Monday morning from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Then, from Monday to Friday, the project work will run from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., with at least one lane in each direction open during construction.

The project is expected to wrap by the end of the year on Dec. 31.
