CHP Maximum Enforcement Period results are in for Monterey, Santa Cruz

CENTRAL COAST, Calif. (KION-TV) - The California Highway Patrol has concluded its Maximum Enforcement Period across the state during the Memorial Day holiday.

CHP Monterey shared their numbers, showing no fatal crashes reported.

628 citations in total were made, 285 of those being speed violations. 38 vehicles were either stored or impounded. 31 DUI arrests were made in Monterey County.

For Santa Cruz County, one fatal crash was reported in Davenport over the weekend.

410 total citations were issued, with 247 of those being speed-related. 119 verbal warnings were given, and 19 were arrested for DUI.

KION has reached out to CHP's Hollister-Gilroy division and will update with those numbers once given.
