Applications open for new affordable condos in Santa Cruz County

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, Calif. (KION-TV) - Six affordable housing condos have been announced for Aptos Village and Live Oak, with occupants to be chosen by random drawing.

The county of Santa Cruz announced on Facebook. Five units are located in Aptos Village, ranging from one to three bedrooms, and one two-bedroom condo is in Live Oak.

To qualify for the housing, potential buyers must meet the Measure J eligibility criteria, which is:

  • Must be a first-time homebuyer
  • Household gross income must not exceed the current moderate-income limits of Santa Cruz County (between $111,550 for one person and $210,350 for eight people)
  • Must live or work in Santa Cruz County
  • Must be able to have a down payment of at least three percent of the home price

Those interested can apply by Thursday, May 29, by 4 p.m. with a pre-application form and a loan prequalification letter at the following address:
