The CHP identifies three people killed in Gilroy accident Tuesday
GILROY, Calif., (KION-TV) — The California Highway Patrol (CHP) Hollister-Gilroy is still investigating a deadly crash on Tuesday night slightly before 7 p.m. in Gilroy.
Three people were killed, according to Hollister-Gilroy. These three people have been identified as 18-year-old Brandon Alarcon, 17-year-old Victor Lujan and 17-year-old Anzhel Villegas-Lemus.
They said that the driver of one of the vehicles lost control while traveling west on Shore Road west of Lake Road, crossing into opposing traffic and striking a different vehicle traveling east on Shore Road.
It was the driver of the westbound car and two rear-seat passengers who died from the accident, according to CHP.
According to the release, at least three vehicles were involved, of which the other passengers in the other vehicles were transported by helicopter to an area hospital with suspected serious injuries.
Area personnel are handling the investigation.
The San Benito High School District addressed the Hollister High School community Wednesday, saying, "Our thoughts and condolences go out to the families, fiends and loved ones of these young individuals. We know that this news will have a significant impact on our students, staff and the broader community."
The school is offering counseling and mental health services to those students seeking support throughout the rest of the week.
