Capitola Village and Wharf

Capitola Police announced Monday the Wharf and Village are closed and people living in the Venetians will need to evacuate because of high surf and flooding.

They said the closure will be in effect until "further notice" and is caused by an anticipated high swell event.

Capitola Police said the water-facing units will need to leave immediately.

Police add Village residents in the 100 blocks of Esplanade and Monterey should shelter in place or voluntarily leave the area.
