WELLINGTON, New Zealand (AP) — At least 14 people are dead and hundreds more are injured after a magnitude 7.3 earthquake struck off Vanuatu, causing widespread damage across the South Pacific island nation. The Red Cross reported the toll on Tuesday, citing information from the government. Widespread damage to communications and other infrastructure has impeded the release of official reports. The Red Cross says more than 200 people have been injured. Some rescuers worked overnight to reach people heard yelling inside the rubble. A building housing a number of diplomatic missions was significantly damaged. There is also reported damage at the airport.
