Santa Cruz and Monterey CHP releases Thanksgiving’s Maximum Enforcement numbers

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (KION-TV) -- The Santa Cruz CHP released its Maximum Enforcement numbers Monday from last week's Thanksgiving holiday.

According to the CHP, from November 27 through December 1 there were no deadly crashes, yet 409 citations were issued (143 for speeding), 107 verbal warnings given and 22 DUI arrests made.

The CHP issued a special thank you to all of the safe and responsible drivers on the road during the holiday.

In Monterey County, the CHP said that they issued 335 written citations, impounded or stored 30 vehicles, arrested 20 people for DUIs and sustained no deadly crashes.
