Seaside dentist pleads not guilty to sexual battery
SEASIDE, Calif. (KION) -- Dr. Weidong Wang pleaded not guilty to three misdameanor counts of sexual battery during an arraignment hearing on Wednesday morning.
Dr. Wang is accused of sexually assaulting three of his patients from his practice with court documents claiming the incidents happened between February and November of last year.
Criminal protective orders have been issued for the victims.
In a statement, the attorney representing the victims said in part:
"When you sit in a dentist’s chair, you place deep trust in the person treating you. Dr. Wang violated that trust in a deliberate and predatory way. Our clients are living with anger, shame, and grief no one should have to bear."
Wang is expected back in court on May 19.
Local dentist arrested for allegedly committing sexual battery during dental procedures; Seaside Police
SEASIDE, Calif. (KION-TV) -- The Seaside Police Department announced Friday that they have arrested a local dentist, Dr. Weidong Wang, for allegations of sexual battery during a dental procedures.
Police say that the arrest comes after they received multiple reports from patients who accused Dr. Wang of inappropriate and unlawful conduct while he was providing care.
Seaside Police are looking for additional potential victims who have not yet come forward, and are asking people with further information to call Officer Suarez-Lopez or Sergeant Martinez at 831.899.6748.
