Jury begins deliberating fate of Indiana man charged in 2017 killings of 2 teenage girls

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — A jury has begun deliberating the fate of an Indiana man charged in the 2017 killings of two teenage girls who vanished during an afternoon hike near their small hometown. The jurors got the case after hearing closing arguments Thursday from a prosecutor and then an attorney for former drugstore worker Richard Allen. He’s accused of cutting the throats of Abigail Williams and Liberty German, known as Abby and Libby, after forcing them off a trail. He faces up to 130 years in prison if convicted of all the murder charges. Jurors deliberated about two hours Thursday and will resume Friday morning.
