SAN BENITO COUNTY, Calif. (KION-TV) -- KION's Sergio Berrueta was out in San Benito County today speaking with voters about issues that matter most to them. The San Benito Office of Elections even offered voters a bell to ring upon completion of their ballots.

Many voters were eager for the Hollister mayoral race, as well as Measure X; the potential sale of the Hazel Hawkins Hospital to the private company called Insight Health.

Even if the sale goes through, the county would still maintain local oversight in order to allow for services to continue in the area.

One voter talked about why the county maintaining control of Hazel Hawkins Hospital is so important to them.

“We’ve been scared of Hazel Hawkins. I have had friends who had not very good service there and even some people who passed away," said voter Oscar Ramirez. "I don’t know what’s going on or what the answer is. Hopefully they get that corrected.”

The results of Measure X in addition to the others will begin coming in after 8 p.m. tonight.

We will continue updating our coverage as voting numbers come in.
