Pennsylvania county says 2,500 voter registrations being investigated for possible fraud

Associated Press

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — Officials in a Pennsylvania county say an investigation is underway after election workers identified about 2,500 voter registration forms that may be fraudulent. The Lancaster County Elections Board and the local prosecutor said Friday some of the forms contained false names, suspicious handwriting, questionable signatures, incorrect addresses or other problematic details. The registrations in question arrived in two batches shortly before Pennsylvania’s deadline to register to vote earlier this week. Officials say they were apparently part of a large-scale canvassing operation. The prosecutor says it appears to have been an “organized effort.”
