Fallen tree, wires force temporary closure of Highway 17 near Glenwood Drive

CHP SANTA CRUZ

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, Calif. (KION-TV) -- CHP Santa Cruz says a fallen tree and wires forced a shutdown of Northbound Highway 17 just south of Glenwood Drive.

Crews were able to remove the tree and have since reopened the highway.

A photo from the CHP shows the tree laying across the highway with a portion of it seemingly extending into the other side of Highway 17.

The CHP said crews were able to clear the tree about an hour after the closure was put in place.

No injuries were reported.
