43rd annual California International Airshow, September 27 to 29
SALINAS, Calif. (KION-TV) -- The 43rd annual California International Airshow is returning to Salinas September 27-29 at the Salinas Airport.
The airshow announced that it will be featuring a culinary experience on Friday night at the Maverick's Lounge between 5 and 10:30 p.m. They say that this will be accompanied by a "Twilight Airshow" with some of the most celebrated civilian and military performers.
With clear skies ahead, the airshow is planning a fireworks extravaganza followed by their "Wall of Fire" event wrapping up Friday evening.
Audiences can expect to see the U.S.A.F Thunderbirds, U.S. Patriots, the C-5M Super Galaxy, Smoke-N-Thunder Jet Car, North American P-51 Mustangs and a handful of famous pilots. The airshow announced this year that Luchadores ("Lucha Libre") will be making a cameo for the first time this year.
This year, the airshow also announced that it has a "Clear Bag" policy to help ensure the the safety and security of the public.
The airshow gates will open at 9 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday with the President's Tent opening at 10 a.m. (VIP parking instructions will be available on the field with a VIP entrance). The show itself starts at 11:30 a.m. on both days and ends at approximately 4 p.m.
