The First Tee of Monterey County draws new crowd of kids to golf
PEBBLE BEACH, Calif (KION) The First Tee came to Monterey County in 2004. Sixteen years later, 9,000 children in Monterey County take part in the First Tee.
The organization introduces kids to the sport of golf no matter their background. In addition to learning golf, The First Tee teaches children life skills.
Tonight at 5 and 6 p.m. on KION, we'll explain the organization’s influence in Salinas schools and speak with a high school student in the First Tee who has pro-golf aspirations.
