Statement:

  • Born and raised in Watsonville, I have been active in the community for nearly 20 years. As a third generation Watsonville resident, descended from immigrants from Mexico, I am passionate about serving the needs of the community.
  • I have worked in nonprofits and afterschool programs countywide and previously taught at a high school in Watsonville. Currently, I am an Adjunct Professor at Hartnell College.
  • I attended Cabrillo College for 2 years before transferring to and graduating from the University of California, Berkeley, where I received my B.A. in English Literature in 2009.
  • I received a Master's Degree in Communication from California State University, East Bay in 2018.
  • I am running for City Council to better serve and represent the community that I am fortunate to be a part of. Our community thrives when we all have a say, and I am willing to listen to and work with community members with differing opinions to reach solutions that will benefit us all.
  • By running, I hope to amplify the voices of the constituents not only in my district, but in the entire community, and bring positive change and opportunity to Watsonville.
  • On behalf of the City of Watsonville City Council and City Staff, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the City of Watsonville. I hope that you will take an opportunity to explore the City of Watsonville through our website, where you will find information about our community and the many services that we provide to residents and businesses alike. The City of Watsonville is truly a great city in which to live, work, and play.
