Donna R. Lind

Statement:

  • When I joined the City of Scotts Valley 56 years ago, there were no stoplights and only four
  • employees. There were so few staff; I doubled as a police dispatcher and secretary to the
  • City Council and Planning Commission. A lot has changed over time, but we still have a
  • unique quality of life and community spirit that’s rare and worth protecting.
  • I’m a graduate of Santa Cruz High and Gavilan College Police Academy, becoming the first
  • female Scotts Valley Police Officer, a retired Police Sergeant, and city employee of 40
  • years. I serve with Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors, President of Fallen Officer
  • Foundation, and active in community groups. I was named Scotts Valley Woman of the
  • Year in recognition of community service.
  • Since elected to City Council, having served as Mayor 3 times, I’ve demonstrated my
  • commitment to the city during tough economic times. I’ve worked to control spending
  • while maintaining a balanced budget and protecting City services.
  • If re-elected, I’ll continue to advocate for seniors, place emphasis on economic
  • development to support our economy, work with water agencies on sustainable
  • groundwater while working to meet State housing mandates. I’ll continue support of police
  • and to preserve the unequalled quality of life that makes Scotts Valley so special.
