Santa Cruz County officers arrest three people in connection to robbery
SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CALIF. (KION-TV)- Multiple Santa Cruz County units arrested one adult and two juveniles in connection to a robbery that happened last Friday.
On July 26th, Capitola Police responded to robbery at a commercial business near 41st Avenue. According to officials, three suspects stole a large amount of merchandise before fleeing the scene. An employee was also threatened by one suspect, who said he had a firearm and would attack the employee.
Officers responded to the business to gather information about the vehicle the suspects took off in. Soon after, a Detective for Capitola Police found the vehicle, which had entered and parked in Santa Cruz. Due to the mention of a firearm and felony offense, a high risk stop was conducted. Officers from Harbor Patrol, Santa Cruz Police and the Santa Cruz Sheriff's Office assisted in safely detaining the suspects.
The primary suspect, an unnamed adult male, was arrested for robbery and a felony warrant for his arrest. The other two suspects, juveniles under 18, were booked into Juvenile Hall for grad theft.
After looking into the details of the case, on top of the mentioned threat, additional charges of criminal threats, conspiracy and burglary tools were sent to the District Attorney for prosecution.
