Salinas police ask for the public’s help with a bank robber suspect
SALINAS, Calif. (KION-TV) -- Salinas police is seeking community assistance with finding a man who entered U.S. Bank on S. Main St. on June 20.
They say that the man walked up to a teller, asked if the worker spoke Spanish and then set a black plastic shopping bag on the teller counter.
After ordering the teller to "put all the money in the bag," according to Salinas police, the teller was able to stall the situation long enough for the suspect to get nervous and flee the bank.
The suspect was last seen leaving the bank heading north east through the parking lot.
He is described as being in his 30s, 180 lbs and about 5'7" with a scar above his upper lip.
Salinas police is asking anyone who has seen this man to call Detective Zamora at 831-758-7148 or the Salinas Police Department Tip Line at (831) 775-4222. Callers can remain anonymous.
