Vianette Garcia earns Miss California Rodeo Salinas crown
SALINAS, Calif. (KION-TV) -- Temecula native, Vianette Garcia has been crowned Miss California Rodeo Salinas for 2024.
Garcia won over five contestants trying to earn the title during a competition held over the past two days at the Salinas Sports Complex.
Categories for the contest included personality, appearance, scholarship and horsemanship.
For earning the Miss California Rodeo Salinas title, Garcia received a $3,000 educational scholarship, a gold and silver belt buckle, a gold and silver tiara and the use of a two-horse trailer for the next year.
Rodeo organizers said Garcia will serve as an ambassador for the rodeo, attending rodeos, parades and community celebrations across the state.
Kyndal Castle, Summer Fanning, Lillian Kier and Kate Richardson also competed for the title, with Kier named the first runner-up and Richardson earning second runner-up honors.
Kier received the congeniality award as voted on by her fellow contestants.
