Imjin Parkway widening and roundabout project updates
MARINA, Calif. (KION-TV) -- Road widening and roundabout construction continues at Imjin Parkway in Marina.
On Monday night starting at 10 p.m. the road will close between Marina Heights Drive and Abrams Drive and will not re-open until 6 a.m. In addition to this, Preston Drive will remain closed until August of this year.
From June 17 through June 28, construction crews will form concrete retaining walls near Abrams Drive and Marina Heights Drive. Irrigation service lines will be installed between Abrams Drive and Imjin Road as well as a new roadway between Reservation Road and Preston Drive.
In addition to this, concrete curbs will be placed at the edge of Preston Drive and concrete barrier upgrading will take place between Abrams Drive and Imjin Road. Abrams and Marina Heights drives will continue receiving trench work.
Future construction in this area includes improvement to concrete retaining walls, updating earthwork on the westbound side between Abrams and Imjin Road as well as installing underground utilities for storm drains, street lights and fiber conduits.
The City of Marina's Public Works Division is asking drivers to maintain a speed of 25 MPH throughout the construction zone.
