Salinas Police investigating pedestrian versus vehicle crash

UPDATE: JUNE 13th at 9:42 a.m.: SALINAS, CALIF. (KION-TV)- More information has come out regarding the vehicle vs pedestrian crash that took place Thursday.

According to officials, the incident occurred around 4:39 a.m. on John Street just East of North Sanborn Road. At that time, the pedestrian walked onto the street and was struck by a vehicle. The pedestrian was taken to a nearby hospital with major injuries.

According to Salinas Police, the pedestrian is still in critical condition. The driver of the vehicle stayed on scene and cooperated with police.

No drugs or alcohol appear to be a factor in the crash.

ORIGINAL: SALINAS, CALIF. (KION-TV)- Salinas Police are on scene investigating a vehicle versus pedestrian crash resulting in major injuries that happened on John Street overnight.

According to officials, a preliminary investigation shows that the pedestrian entered the roadway in front of a vehicle and was hit. The pedestrian was transported to a nearby hospital and listed in critical condition.
