Gilroy Police looking for suspect who fled from scene in deadly hit-and-run crash

GILROY, Calif. (KION-TV)- Gilroy Police are looking for a suspect in a deadly hit and run crash that happened late Friday night.

Investigators said the crash happened in the area of First Street and Eigleberry Street just before 11 p.m.

Officers said they found a unresponsive man in the road who was suffering from major injuries.

The man was transported to a local hospital where he later died.

Gilroy Police said the suspect got away prior to officers arriving on scene. Police describe the suspect vehicle as a black or dark colored sedan that was seen driving westbound on First Street.
