Man arrested after Downtown King City stabbing, police say

KING CITY, Calif. (KION-TV) -- A 40-year-old man is in jail after allegedly stabbing another man in downtown King City on Thursday night.

King City Police say around 10 p.m. the suspect stabbed another man in the upper torso near his shoulder and escaped from the scene along the 200 block of Broadway Street.

Police say the stabbing victim is expected to be okay.

The suspect, later identified by police as Rene Correa, was arrested at his home early Friday morning.

Correa was charged with assault with a deadly weapon and booked into the Monterey County Jail.
