SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, Calif. (KION-TV)- If you are traveling on Highway 1 in Santa Cruz County then expect to see some delays in the area this week.

Caltrans said that drivers can expect overnight and daytime ramp lane closures starting on Monday night.

The overnight lane closures will be from Monday night to Thursday night from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

For the overnight closure, drivers will encounter a closure of the right hand lane of Highway 1 near Soquel Drive as well as closure of the southbound onramp at Soquel Drive and the southbound off-ramp at 41st Avenue

The daytime lane closures will be from Monday to Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Travelers will encounter a closure of the northbound 41st Avenue on-ramp to Highway 1. This closure will permit crews to perform work on drainage infrastructure.

Crews said will construct north and southbound auxiliary lanes and bus-on-shoulder improvements between the 41st Avenue and Soquel Avenue and Soquel Drive.

This work is part of Highway 1 Auxiliary Lane Project which will involve a new bike and pedestrian overcrossing.

The project is expected to be done late 2025.
