WASHINGTON (AP) — Iran’s attack against Israel over the weekend has spurred bipartisan legislative action in Congress and sanctions from the Biden administration. Several measures introduced and passed in the House and the Senate seek to publicly condemn and punish Iran financially. And the Biden administration on Thursday announced sanctions targeting producers of engines that power the drones used in the attack by Iran. Lawmakers have denounced Iran’s actions, which came in response to a suspected Israeli strike on an Iranian consular building in Syria that killed two Iranian generals. The condemnation of Iran has put on sharp display the durability of American support for Israel.
