NL Cy Young Award winner Blake Snell to sign a two-year deal with the San Francisco Giants, league sources say
SAN FRANCISCO, (KION-TV)- The San Francisco Giants may have gotten the last remaining free agent left on the market.
The Orange and Black have signed the reigning National League Cy Young Award winner Blake Snell to a two-year, $62 million contract according to Jon Heyman of MLB Network and New York Post.
Heyman says that Snell would have an opt-out after this season.
Snell went 14-9 with 234 strikeouts and posted a 2.25 ERA in 180 innings for the San Diego Padres in 2023. He will be reunited with current Giants manager Bob Melvin.
However, he led the Major Leagues with 99 walks allowed last season.
Snell will turn 32 years old in December. He joins a lethal rotation that includes Logan Webb, Kyle Harrison and Alex Cobb.
