Hunter Biden’s years of personal grief and public missteps are focus of House impeachment probe

WASHINGTON (AP) — In the fall of 2015, Joe Biden had chosen to forgo a White House run, preparing to enter private life for the first time in his long political career. His eldest son had died that spring, and his second son, Hunter Biden, was working to stay sober, mend his marriage and rebuild from grief. The fragile period in the personal life of Hunter Biden and his family is the focus of the U.S. House’s Republican-led impeachment inquiry. Hunter Biden is expected Wednesday to appear behind closed doors for a deposition with the House committees leading the probe, apparently eager to fight back defending himself and his father.
