Associated Press

SAN FRANCISCO, (KION-TV)- The San Francisco Giants have had a lackluster offseason but business might have picked up late Monday night.

The Orange and Black have signed designated hitter and outfielder Jorge Soler to a three-year deal worth $42 million according to Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle.

Soler has played the last two seasons with the Miami Marlins and made the National League All-Star Team last season.

The 31-year-old Havana, Cuba native hit .250 with 36 home runs and 75 RBI's last season with the Fish. Before that, Soler was the 2021 World Series MVP hitting three home runs to help the Atlanta Braves beat the Houston Astros in six games.

Soler has won two World Series titles and led the American League in home runs with 49 when he was with the Kansas City Royals.

The Giants have not had a player hit the 30-homer mark since Barry Bonds slugged 45 home runs in 2004.
