All reporting stations are good to moderate except Big Sur, which is at “unhealthy”. It’s unclear why--it is possible there is a shallow inversion that is collecting wood-burning home heating/campfire smoke.
The weather pattern will remain progressive with weather systems passing by to our north over the next few days. The first is passing by overnight which is leading to increase clouds and potentially some drizzle in the morning hours. The next system will arrive on Wednesday morning and could lead to additional light drizzle. In the meantime, cool, breezy conditions will persist. High pressure will build into the weekend, starting on the Thanksgiving holiday, clearing us out. Highs will head upward, but lows may be chilly for a time.
Overnight: Mostly cloudy on the coast with drizzle possible by dawn. Lows mainly in the 40s with a few inland valleys dipping into the 30s. Breezy at times over the hills and on the exposed coast.
Monday: Decreasing clouds. Cool & breezy with highs in the upper 50s to mid-60s. A few clouds return late.
Tuesday: Patchy AM fog, then becoming mostly sunny, cool, and breezy. Expect coastal highs in the upper 50s to mid-60s with mainly 60s for inland valleys and 50s up in the hills.
Extended: Low clouds return late Tuesday into Wednesday morning with drizzle possible on the coast. Gusty northwest winds at times. Then, clearing out into Thanksgiving with chilly mornings into the weekend and slowly warming high temperatures. Highs return to above normal levels by Friday and will remain there until at least Sunday.

-The outlook from the Climate Prediction Center for November 30th – December 6th calls for the likelihood of ABOVE normal temperatures and BELOW normal precipitation.

-Area drought status: Moderate drought for much of Santa Cruz & Santa Clara Counties, Abnormally dry on the east shore of the bay into San Benito County. No drought classification for much of Monterey County outside of the Gabilan Range.
