Watching Mid-Week System

The cooling trend will continue for the next day or two as high pressure to continues to weaken to our southeast. Overall troughing will develop on the west coast and dig southward by mid-week before moving to the east. This will push a cold front into our area Wednesday. In the days leading up to it, low clouds may produce drizzle as the marine layer deepens. Winds will be gusty with frontal passage on Wednesday, slowly tapering off into Thursday.

AIR QUALITY: Good

Overnight: Widespread low clouds for the coast and major valleys with fog possible in the hills. Expect lows in the 50s for most areas.

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy on the coast with partial clearing in the afternoon. Inland areas will mostly clear out but some high clouds will pass through from the west. Expect coastal highs in the mid 60s to low 70s with mid 70s to low 90s inland. Breezy onshore winds in the afternoon becoming windy up valleys late in the day. Clouds thicken late with drizzle possible.

Wednesday: Overcast with patchy drizzle in the morning, then scattering out with partly cloudy skies and gusty west-northwesterly winds during the afternoon. Highs in the 60s-70s on the coast and 70s to low 80s inland. Clouds thicken again late with some coastal drizzle possible.

Extended:
Seasonable to slightly cool for the rest of the week and into the weekend with partly cloudy skies. We’re tracking another trough moving through early next week. This would could be deeper and may bring some precipitation. Stay tuned!
