The Pacific storm system that brought rain and a bit of wind to the region on Sunday has moved into Southern California. In its wake, high pressure will return for the rest of the week with dry conditions prevailing.

Monday: Mostly sunny after morning clouds. Highs in the 50s to around 60ºF.

Monday night: Mostly clear, with lows in the 40s. Temperatures will be cooler in the valleys and coastal mountains, where lows will drop into the upper 30s.

Tuesday: Passing high clouds with a few clouds hugging the coastal mountains as well. Seasonable to slightly cool with highs in the 50s to low 60s. A bit breezy over the ridgetops early. Mostly clear and cool late for those ringing in the new year outdoors.

Extended: Mostly sunny and seasonable to slightly warm for the remainder of the week and into the weekend.

The outlook from the Climate Prediction Center for January 6th – 12th  calls for the likelihood of BELOW normal temperatures and BELOW normal precipitation.
