A weak trough of low pressure will pass across the West Coast Thursday. While rain is not expected, the moist marine layer will likely produced patchy drizzle. The fast moving trough will be gone by Friday and high pressure will rebuild. Weekend temperatures will return to above normal levels before cooling next week. Overnight: Widespread low cloudcover for the coast and inland valleys, otherwise partly cloudy. Patchy drizzle possible in the morning–mostly in Santa Cruz County. Expect lows in the 40s to around 50ºF. Thursday: Mostly cloudy with a few sprinkles possible near the coast. Drizzle becomes more likely on the south/east sides of the bay late. Cool, with coastal highs in the upper 50s to low 60s and mostly 60s inland. *Beach Hazards* — Increased risk of sneaker waves Thursday night into Friday Friday: Decreasing clouds. Slightly warmer with coastal highs in the upper 50s to mid 60s with 60s-70s inland. Extended: Mostly sunny and warm this weekend with coastal highs in the upper 60s to 70s . Inland highs soar into the 80s . Cooler next week–rain pretty far out still.
