Wanted fugitive arrested during pursuit in Watsonville

WATSONVILLE, Calif. (KION) - A man wanted by U.S. Marshals was arrested during a police pursuit in Watsonville earlier this afternoon.

According to Watsonville Police, 47-year-old Raymond Gallegos was pulled over after running a red light near Freedom Boulevard and Mariposa Avenue.

As a Watsonville officer was checking Gallegos' information, they reportedly sped off away from the area.

A pursuit began soon after, with Gallegos eventually stopping at a shopping center on the 1100 block of Main Street with Gallegos refusing to leave the car.

After a few minutes, Gallegos was taken into custody and booked on multiple charges, including evading an officer.
