Evacuation Warnings lifted in Carmel Valley after Carmel Fire

CARMEL VALLEY, Calif. (KION) - All evacuation warnings around the Carmel Fire have been lifted in Carmel Valley.

Forward progress stopped on Carmel Fire at 1 acre with fire contained

CARMEL VALLEY, Calif. (KION) - A vegetation fire broke out in Carmel Valley at one acre, with forward progress having been stopped.

According to Monterey County Regional Fire, the fire is being deemed contained, with two outbuildings lost.

It has not been confirmed that any of those were homes. PG&E is at the scene handling power lines that were downed.

Evacuation warnings have been issued in the following areas of Carmel Valley:

  • D57A, B, C
  • D60
  • D65
  • D61
  • D66

Carmel Fire breaks out on West Carmel Valley Road

CARMEL VALLEY, Calif. (KION) - According to Monterey County Regional Fire, the fire broke out on the 100 block of West Carmel Rd around 3:30 this afternoon, with one acre and a possible threat to a structure.

One house was evacuated with notifications to those living near the fire to stay away from the area.

CAL FIRE BEU said that there is progress being made to hold the fire to its original location.
