New survey launches for those affected by Moss Landing Battery Fire
CENTRAL COAST, Calif. (KION) -- Monterey, San Benito and Santa Cruz Counties have released a new survey for those affected by the Vistra Energy battery fire at Moss Landing.
With growing health concerns from those living near the location of the fire, health officials are encouraging anyone affected to complete the survey even if they do not feel any signs of illnesses.
“We want to reassure the public that the information shared is valued and will be used to improve future Health Department responses,” Monterey County health officer and director of public health Dr. Edward Moreno said.
The survey cites that the purpose is to help the counties learn more about the incident, the effects felt in the community, and the probable health problems that may have stemmed from the fire.
It also asks questions about the effectiveness of the county's alert system.
It is available in English and Spanish and via QR code below.
