Man killed in solo-crash North of Watsonville

AMESTI, Calif. (KION-TV) -- A man in his early 30s has died after crashing into a tree and fence at a home north of Watsonville early Friday morning.

CHP says they got the call about the solo-vehicle crash around 9:30 Friday morning off Haley Lane by a homeowner who found the vehicle in their yard.

CHP says so far what they know is the vehicle was traveling east on Amesti Road when they suddenly veered off the road, resulting in the collision.

Crews say the man died prior to their arrival on scene.

So far it's unknown if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
